Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by David B — 16 Sep 2012
Interesting biopic of John Lennon in the formative years, just before he went off to Hamburg with the Beatles (although they cheekily manage to avoid actually saying the word). It is a thoughtful script, apparently faithful to all the main brushstrokes of his childhood. It is not afraid to show that Lennon could behave like a real jerk at times, but at least the context given here helps explain (if not excuse) that.
Beautifully acted all round. Kudos to one and all.
