Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Aaron J — 25 May 2013
Spellbinding, Oscar-Worthy, A Terrific insight into the early days of one of my favorite bands The Beatles. The film tells the early days of Beatles front-man John Lennon (Aaron Johnson) as he struggles to make a name for himself in early 1950's Liverpool, and the film chronicles the relationship with his Aunt Mimi (Kristin Scott-Thomas, the founding of The Beatles, and as well as the relationship with his real mother Julia (Anna Marie-Duff).
This film is full of great music and is superbly directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, and beautifully written by Matt Greenhalgh. This film is powerful on so many levels especially by the performances by Johnson, Marie-Duff, and Scott Thomas.
I really hope to see film be nominated for a few Academy Awards.
