Review of Nowhere (2013) by Sarah C — 24 Jul 2007
I'm really not sure what to rate this film. it was like watching a car accident with all that gore, you can't turn away [or turn the channel in this case] so you watch it all the way through. usually i'm delighted with a whole collage of fucked up characters, but they were al so shallow and disoriented it was impossible to attach yourself or even remotely relate to any of them.
the only benefit from that is when they all meet their individual dooms, you don't feel so bad about it. lots of symbolism and surreal beginning to end. and it leaves you with that 'what the fuck?' feeling at the end much like Magnolias.
But! I have a feeling i'll be watching this again, I have this feeling somewhere in this movie something great happened and I missed it. i'm giving it four stars because I can't get it out of my head.
