When I was a kid, I used to watch a show on NBC called "Banacek" starring George Peppard. It was about a detective who could figure out elaborate schemes and heists, sort of like the ones in this movie.
I guess what I'm saying is that this movie is just like a big, expensive TV show. It's kind of silly, very slick and stars a very charismatic cast of "A" listers. It's really just a bunch of cinematic magic tricks.
It's well made and entertaining but it shows us how all the tricks are done.
