Review of Now You See Me (2013) by Noah R — 26 Mar 2016

Seeing as I was highly looking forward to this film, I walked out of the film scratching my head in disappointment. Its preposterous plot line would never be able to occur in real life, which magic should be able to make happen, but when all the cool tricks in the film are done by CGI effects, it takes all the stakes away and you are pulled out of the film to reality and you just have to turn off your brain for this one.

The actors are enjoyable and the twists work very well, but it all just seemed so easy for them to pull everything off when the final act of the film comes to a close. Magic is supposed to amaze people, and that is certainly not what this film did.

Besides a few fun action sequences and an enjoyable premise, "Now You See Me" is a very hit or miss film. Sadly, I won't be remembering this the way I hoped I would...
