Review of Now You See Me 2 (2016) by Ronald E — 29 Jun 2016
This has to be among the worst sequels I have ever seen, and I went in to the movie with relatively low expectations. The Original was a fun popcorn flick that allowed for shutting off your brain to enjoy the acting, fun story and character interaction. This movie is nonsensical and overly ridiculous from the beginning. You could almost feel the "I'm just doing this for the paycheck" vibe from the returning main characters. I really feel like I truly wasted hours of my life with this mess.
On a side note, I feel sorry for the really poor writing Lizzy Caplan had to endure. Her character "Lula" was designed to replace Isla Fisher's character. It was the worst character transition I can remember in recent history.
What a crapfest.
