I LOVED the first movie. I watch it all the time. I was super excited when I heard about this movie. Sadly, I was disappointed. The story is weak, the "twist" is predictable, and the final act was just lame.
Why would all those people be watching such a terrible show on New Years Eve? I guarantee 99.99% of those folks wouldn't have any idea who the villains were and wouldn't care anyways, let alone be cheering at the "big reveal.
" The fact is, the writers got lazy and no one took the time to ask, "Would this be really cool to watch? Would anyone care? Such a waste of a great opportunity.
