Review of Now Is Good (2012) by Bryan O — 26 Sep 2012
'Now is Good' delivers its message but teeters between working and not, thankfully it works. Its approach is to thread lightly but it packs too much in to provide enough time for each concern. Also, the light touch reality camerawork takes away from key scenes. Successfully, it is a teenagers perspective we journey through. The comic relief works, with Irvine's efforts charmingly so, while Fanning's remarks are jaded in their delivery which adds a poignancy to the movie's tone. The charm of this movie is to tap into our inner teenager and remind us to make our own lists, chase them, not to waste time worrying about the small stuff but to take time for what really matters.
Rating: "Some messages and moments are important, some are not.".
