Review of Now and Then (1995) by Coxxie M — 29 May 2009
"You can run from the disappointments you're trying to forget. But it's only when you embrace your past that you truly move forward. Maybe Thomas Wolfe never got to go home again, but I found my way there. And I'm glad I did.".
Wonderful movie about four 12-year-old girls growing up together in 1970 and then reuniting again 20 years later.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. All four of the main characters were likable in their own way. Although I felt like I identified with Samantha the most. The way they cast this movie was great. Everyone had their own distinct personality and I loved that. I can't believe I hadn't seen this movie sooner. Now and Then had just the right amount of comedy and drama to make for a fulfilling film. It was heartfelt and sincere and at the end, everything wrapped up nicely. Oh yeah, and I can't forget about the awesome music that was played. That definitely gave it more pizazz. And the girl-power moments were nifty as well.
Lovely movie. :).
