Review of Nothing Like the Holidays (2008) by Francisca M — 25 Dec 2009
I'm glad that a latin christmas comedy was made because I can't think of any that are out. The cast was great and the plot was simple. The film wasn't deep or had great scenes except maybe for the dance scene with John Leguizamo.
I love the entire cast save for Debra Messing. It seems that when you take her out of "Will & Grace" her acting gets really bad and her facial expression are one sided and that of a cold frijole.
Everyone else was fun despite the lackluster plot. The food and dancing and silly jokes made the movie. Nothing else really shined and when it ended I wondered where the rest of the movie was. Maybe that was the point.
Everything was wrapped up and it came as swiftly as it begun. Overall, an alright holiday movie that had nothing of the holidays.
