Review of Nothing Like the Holidays (2008) by Lillian C — 12 Dec 2008
I can honestly say, it was a nice way to ease movie watching. There have been so many drama heavy, serious movies out lately that I have been watching and will be watching the next few weeks. Watching this was a sigh of relief.
I understand that many critics did not like this movie. It was not the best Christmas movie I have seen bu it was nice to watch. I love watching Alfred Molina and Elizabeth Pena. It reminded me of another movie I really enjoy, Tortilla Soup.
Its all about family. Nothing fancy. Just family with a little drama and lots of fun. Watching movies like this make me smile. Not to mention I love watching the food :) The scenes with the undies were a little much for me but made me smile a little because of my own culture where close family is not always shy walking around in undies.
Some funny moments. It makes me want to have a family as fun as this in the future.
