Review of Nothing But the Truth (2008) by Pat O — 10 Feb 2009
Kate Beckinsale proves she's one of the most underrated actresses in this taut and intense political thriller. Beckinsale plays a reporter that outs a CIA agent but refuses to reveal her source and thus is sent to prison.
It's an Oscar-caliber performance, no question. Another criminally underrated lady, Vera Farmiga, plays the agent with such rage that is no doubt her best work in my book. Stylish direction, a highly engaging story, made me quite sad at times, and the ending came out of nowhere.
Made me think, gotta love that. See this, please.
