Review of Nothing But the Truth (2008) by Rodney S — 09 Aug 2009
Right from the headlines of the American government in recent years, comes this excellent Rod Lurie movie about a journalist (Kate Beckinsale) who gets a tip and writes a story that reveals the identity of a CIA agent, married to a former Ambassador, that wrote a critical op-ed piece condemning the Executive Branch of the government for starting a war over false information.
Sound familiar? Yes, this is pretty close to the Judith Miller and Valerie Plame scandal, in which the journalist was sent to prison for not revealing their source. I loved this movie, although it is ficticious, because the plot differs from the real life scandal, I found it to be very entertaining with a couple of plot twists that I doubt anybody will see coming.
Great cast, along with Kate, is Matt Dillon and Alan Alda among others.
