Review of Nothing But the Truth (2008) by Tim B — 26 Jan 2009
I just watched Nothing But the Truth and I must say it was a very thought provoking political drama about a journalist who writes an article revealing CIA information and refuses to reveal her "source.
" Let me be the first to say that I am a huge fan of Kate Beckinsale. She is a great actress. Being British I have seen her play an American and British role and she does both really well. If you are skeptical of her as an actress do me a favor and watch this movie.
She should win an Academy Award for her performance. The movie will probably seem slow to some and the action scenes are far and few between, but you will be thinking throughout the film. It is a shame what happened to Yuris Movie productions.
If you dont know, this is the production company that made this film and they had to file bankruptcy. Because of this, the movie never made it to theaters, which could cost it some awards come Oscar time.
It is a shame that more people have not seen or heard of this film. I can only hope that it can be seen by more people as in this day and age there are not many movies that value principles and civil liberties quite like this one.
A+ for Beckinsale and the rest of the cast on a job well done.
