Review of Notes on a Scandal (2006) by Graceann M — 24 Dec 2008
Judi Dench is downright creepy in her portrayal of a teacher obsessed with one of her colleagues. Cate Blanchett's character, Sheba, is deeply flawed, but has no idea of the punishment in store for her when she sits down for lunch with Barbara.
A friendship develops, then becomes overwhelming. Everyone is excellent, but Dench is the one to watch here.
