This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while - the writing is pretty good but the acting and directing are great, and Judi Dench is especially incredible. Cate Blanchett redeems herself too - she does a nice job when she she sticks to British and Australian accents, and the two actresses play off each other really really well.
Not a cheery film to watch, but it's so interesting to see how Judi Dench really gives herself over to this role. Wow.
