Review of Notes on a Scandal (2006) by Adam B — 10 Jul 2009
Wow, a brilliant film. It's intense, uncomfortable and at times chilling. The story line is compelling and keeps you hooked at all times. Judi Dench deserves all the credit she gets for her performance in this film as she really does play the role perfectly.
Her character is so twisted, deluded and just down right creepy and she portrayed these characteristics brilliantly, even in her narration. Although Dench's performace is by far superior Cate Blanchett, Bill Nighy and Andrew Simpson also put in very impressive performances and they all contribute to making this a pretty messed up thriller.
A really impressive film that is definitely worth a watch.
