Review of Not One Less (1999) by Gigi W — 21 Jun 2007
Absolutely one of Zhang Yimou's best films, "Not One Less" captures the essence of post-war Neorealist films like "Roma, città aperta" and "Umberto D". The film is deeply moving and touching and depicts rural poverty and illiteracy using actual rural folk rather than professional actors for the cast.
