Review of Nostalgia (1983) by Rory P — 25 Jun 2009
This Tarkovsky actually dragged for me (I'm usually so engaged in analyzing/contemplating them that the time flies). I'd have to say that this is the 2nd most personal Tarkovsky (Mirror being 1st). Tarkovsky's pain is unbearably palpable. It is sad and disturbing what Erland's character does to himself.
A note: double bill for isolation: Nostalgia and Taxi Driver.
