Review of Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) by The-Ian E — 14 Oct 2012
As a Werner Herzog fan I wanted to love this but it's slow build and settings never quite grab you. Had this been filmed In Whitby it would have added a bit of something to it. Klaus Kinski is creepy enough but he is the best thing in a lumbering film.
Watch out for a scene where a modern day (1979) parking line can be seen. Also of note the town infested with Rats is a nice touch and visually amazing but they are far too clean. So to sum up too slow and has a made for tv look some nice imagery fro Herzog and a fine performance from Kinski but it's all a waste.
