Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Krystal P — 13 May 2009
Do not watch the remastered version if at all possible. I watched this on TCM and what they did to the film was scarier than the film itself. Many of the aesthetics of expressionism are seen in the film but I can only surmise the scope of the project is what made Hollywood clamor for Murnau after this film.
We have become so inundated with the Dracula mythology that the story seems tame today. Interestingly watching Shadow of the Vampire (2007) before this is kinda weird.
