Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Kilgore T — 27 Oct 2010
The legendary Nosferatu - the granddaddy of creepy and atmospheric vampire films or of the horror genre in general.
Max Shrek and his make up artist do wonders to create Count Orlok, the first and the most iconic, spine-chilling vampire in film history.
The use of red, blue and tungsten film stock colours to establish mood was rarely used in this time, yet had a marvelous effect.
The special effects are cheap and outdated, but were likely ground-breaking for 1922.
This should be on everybodies "must see" list.
