Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Kevin H — 15 Mar 2011
This is one of the creepiest films you could ever watch. This silent film works best just the way it stands; it can't be remade with sound and work as well. Watching this film alone in the dark would rival the thrill you would get from any other horror film you could think of.
Max Schreck is absolutely menacing. His portrayal of Count Orlok is breathtakingly hidious. Modern movie making can't compare to the fright this film can conjure. The most memorable scene is the silouhette of Count Orlok walking up the stair case.
There are plenty of more thrilling films, gory films and better acted films, but you won't find another more unsettling and creepy than this one from 1922.
