Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Jake W — 18 Dec 2011
F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu is the real first film in the Dracula choronichles and it is truely the best. What caught my attention about this film was the amazing black and white cinematography, the black and white and purpleish colors made the film more creepy and noir gothic like.
Max Schrek as Graf Orlock was errie and perfect, the way his eyes would move and then his head gave Orlock a zombie like presence. Real estate agent Hutter compfronts orlock in transylvania and his wicked vampire wives in a dark castle that was just right for Orlock and seemed to come right out of Stoker's book.
Nosferatu was the first film from Bram Stoker's book and is still one of the creepiest movies of all time.
