Very good film. I loved all the effects used (especially the makeup) and for a silent film, it moved quickly. The pacing was very fast, which made the action even better. F.W. Murnau does not get mentioned with the great directors given his career was cut short by his early departure.

However, Murnau is a very good director whose talents definitely showed in Nosferatu. Max Schreck was excellent as the eponymous character and while I am more accustomed to seeing Bela Lugosi as Dracula, Schreck's turn as the Stoker-based vampire was quite memorable.

What makes this film even more amazing was all the legal issues with Stoker's widow and Murnau in regards to getting this film released to the public. That story is just as good as this film. A great melodrama that set the tone for all future vampire films.
