Review of Northfork (2003) by Adam G — 20 Feb 2004
I seem to be on a role. I can't seem to get away from art-house high-concept films. First Morvern Callar, now Northfolk. The movie could have told a compelling story of a town being purposefully flooded to make way for a dam.
But no, instead the filmmakers offer up one of those high-minded virtually incomprehensible art-house films that critics will love but the average movie watcher will be left wondering if they hadn?t just wasted their time.
I?m sure there was a message to it but it was so buried under symbolism and other junk, I stopped caring about what it was..
