Review of Northanger Abbey (2007) by Lars N — 13 Oct 2009
It could have greatly benefited from a longer running time. 90 minutes is much too short for any film adaptation of a novel. But the acting was great, the story flowed, and there were some great natural scenes.
The fantasies were a little odd, although I guess they served their purpose in showing Catherine's imagination. The score helped to create, if not created in its entirety, the Goth/horror feel Austen had been aiming for.
