The story of a failed attempt to scale the north face of the Eiger in 1936, this fictionalised account didn't enthrall me. The film heavyhandedly made it obvious that leaving a particular rope behind by the climbers was a mistake, which made the outcome of the climb obvious even to those, like me, who didn't know the story.
The mountain/snow/ice effects were very effective, but couldn't compensate for a melodramatic plot.
