Review of North Face (2008) by Ben M — 21 Nov 2010
NothFace.
Directed by: Philipp Stölz.
Release Date: January 29, 2010.
A period piece wannabe epic tale of determination not die hard stubborn arrogance, but fullfilment in the sporting achievment from age old alpine skills still following their traditional route of village besties and their unquestionable love for oneanother (abit masculene).
It's actually. The story of a wannabe journo scaling the heights of a city publication during WWII to cover a true feat of German strength befor the 36 Olympic Games, reaching the summit of the treacherous North Face, Eiger Mountain, Switerland.
Its stops and starts with some average acting with some 'don't go' (in general) morals accompaning an open window to insight true mountaineering stuggles only not so long ago. Man and nature, the best we had portrayed in in a sad true story of love and competition.
