Delivers the goods: convincing scenes of treacherous mountain climbing: avalanches, frostbite, pitons that come loose, et al. Charismatic actors: Benno Furmann and Johanna Wokalek keep you invested in the characters, even as the central love story plays out implausibly.
The film shows how the Nazis' disrespect for human life included their "own:" German Aryans.
