Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Henry S — 18 Aug 2011
A bundle of everything you could want in a movie, it is romantic one second, and tense and suspicious the next, in a manner that only Hitchcock can pull off. It has a charm and elegance extinct in modern blockbusters, and through the immaculate characterization of Roger Thornhill pulls the audience with it.
Its unrivaled wit is what I took from the film though, as it was not at all what I had expected, watch it and leave with a grin.
