Review of North by Northwest (1959) by John H — 17 Jan 2012
Masterful romantic thriller from the genius that was Alfred Hitchcock.Everything about this film is absolutely flawless from Hitchcock's typically brilliant direction,Ernest Lehman's script, the superb performances from Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint and their fantastic chemistry to memorable villains in James Mason and Martin Landau.
The film is also full of truly great scenes such as the very sexy train seduction scene, the famous crop duster chase which is one of the greatest action scenes of all time and the climactic scene on Mount Rushmore.
This film represents everybody involved working at their absolute best.A massively enjoyable masterpiece from one of the greatest directors of all time.
