Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Brandon M — 04 Aug 2012
"The Hitchcock film to end all Hitchcock films." might arguably be dead on accurate. Psycho is too different, and Vertigo is too dark, but North by Northwest is just pretty damn close to perfect.
Grant's suave demeanor is perfected, Eva is gorgeous in her role but still smart and holds her own. There's some great setpieces as well that you won't soon forget (both shown in the poster/cover art) and there are some wonderful camera shots.
It's certainly one of the best films ever made.
