Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Leonard E — 19 Jun 2014
It's easy to get stuck in a rut watching movies made in 1994 and later. But great movies did not start with Forrest Gump, and this is a terrific example. Somehow it took me many years to get around to this movie, and it's one of the best movies I've seen.
And if I didn't realize it on my own, a documentary on the blu ray hosted by another favorite director, Guillermo Del Toro, points out all the awesome little touches that only Hitchcock could pull off.
It may seem slow to today's desensitized eyes, but this movie is awesome. Grade A+.
