Review of North by Northwest (1959) by Kirsten I. R — 31 Mar 2016
One of my all-time favorite movies! Though many imitations followed, there has been nothing quite like this romantic comedy thriller ever, before or since it was made. Because the Academy couldn't even be bothered to nominate this wonderful movie for best picture, best director, best actor, or best music score (NOBODY does it better than Bernard Herrmann here!), I've never been able to take the Oscars seriously since then!
