I strongly suspect that the real reason so many reviewers dislike this movie is simply because Roger Ebert watched it on a bad a day (for him) and gave it a famously scathing review. (I also suspect there is a subtle message in that bitter review about Roger's own childhood.
) Come on everyone, think for yourselves. This is a funny enjoyable movie ("I left my butter churn in the overhead"), Elijah Woods did a fine job, and the campy Bruce Willis appearances were clever and entertaining.
Rob Reiner can hold his head up over this movie, despite Roger Ebert.
