Review of Norbit (2007) by Kevin S — 24 Aug 2014
The delightfully entertaining movie about Norbit who since he was born was thrown ( literally ) in a orphanage. While there he fell in love with Kate. But Kate was adopted and taken away to never be seen by Norbit ever again.
Now a little bit older and being beat up by bullies a big girl by the name of Rasputia saves him and becomes his girlfriend and later on they marry. Suddenly Kate comes back into town to buy the orphanage they grew up in and Norbit meanwhile finds out how nasty Rasputia is and falls back in love with Kate.
But to Norbits dismay Kate is engaged. Norbit wants to get away from the abusive Rasputia and win Kates heart before she gets married. Just like the Nutty Professor movies Eddie Murphy plays various roles and shows us how truly funny he can be.
This movie is so crazy but yet so outrageously funny. You also finds yourself cheering on Norbit as he tries to win Kate. Eddie Murphy has had some downright terrible movies but this one he is at his best showing us his comedic brilliance.
Defiantly two thumbs up for Norbit.
