Review of Nope (2022) by Notoriousneo — 27 Jul 2022
Eerie, suspenseful, and often flips the script on expectations. If you want a movie that explains every single little thing, you will be disappointed. Part of what makes Peele's movies great is that they are open to many interpretations.
Nope is no different. For example, the certain flashbacks are clearly meant to connect towards a certain character's motivations later in the film, but certain parts of said flashback that people are fixated on (a particular item of clothing specifically) don't really have a meaning aside from the one people will attach to it.
Who is right? No one will ever really know. Regardless, at the end of the day this movie does what it's supposed to which is entertain and be anything but forgettable. Pay the man your $10 and hope we continue to get more original movies like this that take huge swings, make huge hits, and sometimes miss in equal measure.
