Review of Nomads (1986) by Michael J. S — 03 Nov 2010
A film that appears to be both an 80s time capsule and a story ripe for a remake, "Die Hard" director John McTiernan's 1986 pseudo-horror film "Nomads" is worth seeing. I felt that the film was incorrectly advertised, as one of the main characters is dead from the start of the film.
The story--about urban nomads dressed like 80s warriors who seem to be supernatural--is strangely terrifying. It's not quite a horror film, but there are scenes where tension is skilfully constructed.
Good direction, unconventional storytelling, solid acting and an overall eerie feeling render this film an interesting viewing.
