Review of Nocturnal Animals (2016) by Jon C — 17 Dec 2016
Amy Adams, Jake Gylenhaal, Laura Linney, Michael Shannon, Michael Sheen, Jena Malone, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, and Aaron-Taylor Johnson are all phenomenal.
A thoroughly dramatic film that is equally as provocative.
A successful artist receives a disturbing manuscript from her ex husband and it chronicles a terrible story projecting the hurt feelings he had.
The visual telling of the book is very raw and heartbreaking.
Not once was I bored and says a lot about what influences us to put out in the world of literature.
That opening is one of the most risqué I've seen as well.
Do our lives turn into what we didn't intend? Sometimes it's never good to change things so much. Sooner or later we all turn into our mothers. We do things because were driven or because we're insecure in a junk culture.
