Review of Nocturnal Animals (2016) by Makenzie V — 11 Dec 2016
Everything is disjointed and not in a way where it supports the story. We're really meant to be in Amy Adams shoes here but the whole time I felt too distanced from her character. Tom Ford doesn't blend the two narratives too well together and it feels like a very shoddy work of directing, not to mention very cliche dramatic dialogue.
That being said, Adams and Gyllenhall and Shannon are all superb in their roles, if only they had roles that were written better.
