Review of Nocturnal Animals (2016) by Zachariah V — 12 Jan 2017
Tom Ford is deserving of a best director nomination with the attention to detail he brings to this film. Not only does he intertwine two storylines perfectly, but the way he handles the use of symbolism and metaphors here would have you thinking he's a longtime director when, in reality, its only his second film.
The acting is fantastic. In a film with such great actors and a great script, it's no surprise there are memorable characters.
Nocturnal Animals is a film that makes you think, and I absolutely loved that. You'll be on the edge of your seat for the full 2 hours or so, trying to understand various aspects of the film. It's a sad, depressing, hard hitting film which will surely be getting attention at Oscars. Presumably and diservingly for best supporting actor, directing and even best score as the music was not only amazing, but integral to vybe of the film.
