A brave flick from Aranofsky and co. For me it wasn't entirely successful but it is really well made and plays well. Where it falls down for me is the embellishments to the story. I just didn't buy the stuff with Ray Winstone and the events in the last third of the film.
It starts to look like a Lord of the rings type of film and that just didn't feel right to me. That aside, Crowe, Connelly and co are very good and it is always watchable....
