Review of Noah (2013) by Charles P — 16 Jul 2016
The Noah story in the Bible is only a couple pages, and while the story might seem cinematic this movie doesn't do it justice. Obviously here they take huge liberties with the story (for example, in the Bible all of Noah's sons already have wives when they get in the ark).
That stuff I can overlook. The movie just didn't hold my interest. It starts off slow, then gets a little better when Noah is building the ark. Once the flood hits, though, it really slows down to the point where I was just waiting for it to end.
I don't know that it says anything particularly interesting about Christianity or faith. This is the first Aronofsky movie I've seen, so I can't say how it compares to his others. But this one didn't work for me.
