Review of No Way Out (1987) by Patrick H — 06 Sep 2008
This is one of the most well-crafted thrillers I have seen in a long time. It's one of those movies where you know what's about to happen but it's really fun to see how it's going to play out.
Kevin Costner is a Navy Commander and Gene Hackman is Secretary of Defense. They are both in love with the same woman, who turns out to be Hackman's mistress. Hackman accidentally kills her and needs to cover it up to avoid any kind of a scandal.
He ends up putting Costner in charge of the investigation. I won't say any more because watching the movie unravel is part of the fun.
