Review of No Time to Die (2021) by Takeleftalways — 07 Nov 2021
This Bond film is a travesty, a betrayal of everything that Bond stood for: a cool, cerebral individual, with a wry sense of humor and a realistic view of power and women. His job was simple "to get the job done".
Sex and women were part of saving the world, not sentimental objects, not attachments that could ultimately compromise the mission, and yes, Bond was given a mission and for him to succeed, he had to leave everything behind, including himself, that is he could not sentimental, pursuing women for love or having kids.
James Bond was the prototypical cowboy hero, or like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, heroes that saves us, not romantic leads, that can be left for a Nicholas Spark novel or a Spielberg movie. And let me just say a few words about story, which makes no sense, a hodgepodge, of no interest, a casting very wanting, in fact the whole movie, a real Bond movie is 5 minutes long: The Cuba scenes with Ana de Armas.
That blew my mind and saved the money I paid for almost three hours of inanity. The rest is a jumble of bad action sequences, overuse of guns, silly violence, and explosions, uncalled for car chases, and the faceless assassins that crowds every action movies nowdays.
