Review of No Time to Die (2021) by Jungleboy1 — 10 Oct 2021
Film went off to a good start... then went downhill from there. It feels rushed, especially the last hour. A lot of characters crammed in with no real purpose. A long film drawn out with more unnecessary drama.
Film lacked a style and purpose like previous bond films. The Villain was underused and was merely a side quest. The film mainly choosing to focus on bond's relationship with his wife and daughter, but it lacked real connection between the characters.
Bond was more connected with vesper lynd... Blofeld's character was just made a mockery of and wasted off easily, why would you do this to Christoper Waltz?. The ending poison garden set was created almost as if it was meant to be a remake of 1962's Dr No, but took a turn during mid production (is this why Danny Boyle left?).
The female 007 agent was again just another random addition/side character that had no purpose. Paloma's character was underused. If you want to treat bond as a side character, then do this... Have Paloma face off against Nomi and have Blofeld escape prison, reactivate spectre and fight against Safin competing against a plot to take over the world (or something similar).
Hoping they learn lessons from this film and start to make something more like the connery, dalton and early craig years for true bond experience.
