Review of No Time to Die (2021) by Arostislavna — 08 Oct 2021
This biggest let down to Daniel's Bond, a character that is very blatantly "retired", does not feel like a espionage film whatsoever, and filled with tidbits of revisionist politics.
I want to teach you a history lesson, the Soviet Union (Russia) was never fascist/racist. They have worked alongside many different races, including Cubans and Africans throughout history. Russia has NEVER wanted a race war with anybody, Doctor Obruchev should have been German, or in fact American.
Although I do like Ana de Armas' character, she barely gets any screen time and suffers from revisionst politics. Paloma (and the DGI) would never work alongside the CIA or SIS in ANY capacity, they are the "enemy". I guess this is what happens when you get a gusano to play your Cuban character.
The Aston Martin Daniel Craig designed literally sat in the SIS (MI6) garage for the ENTIRE FILM, I assume that it never had an engine put into it and existed for no reason.
The entire third act in the 'poisonous base of doom' contained no intelligence whatsoever and had extreme plot holes. Are we supposed to accept that Safin just goes to the generator to close the missile silo to prevent the destruction of the base? Are we equally just supposed to accept that Bond runs through a chemical/poison pool, get shot a bunch and gets infected, then sacrifices himself because he's permanently infected, and wounded so he can't (and doesn't want to) escape?
Bond's death will live on forever as one of the cheapest disservice to the entire franchise.
I cannot believe I waited a whole year longer for this film.
