Review of No Time to Die (2021) by Eschoenthaler — 08 Oct 2021
I wanted so badly to like this movie. I grew up with Daniel Craig’s Bond. I felt like from beginning - while it was a really really solid intro - to end this movie was a roller coaster in the worst possible way.
There was no plot, too many characters, way too heavily based on romance and rushed for being a 2 hour and 43 minute runtime. Sam Mendes was a fantastic director - gave us some truly iconic shots of Bond.
This just felt like a Fast and Furious/Jurassic Park (you’ll know when you see it) movie searching for an award. I’ve never been disappointed by Craig’s Bond - and while his performance never has and didn’t disappoint, they really did him a disservice by shoving every plot line/story/romance novel they could into this movie.
Also, pick less of a douche-bag, more talented actor than the one that was picked to play Ash… he completely cheapened the movie. Sincerely, bitter and disappointed that Daniel’s franchise ended like that.
