Review of No Strings Attached (2011) by Francisca M — 28 Aug 2012
The beginning of this film was long with the jump every few years to when they meet again and again. I'm assuming it is supposed to make it more endearing to us. It was just long. The entire film is predictable but the cast is great.
It's not one of the better romantic comedies but some of the lines are really good. It is only funny during the middle really. I love Natalie Portman and it's nice to see her in this role and Ashton Kutcher did well.
I enjoyed their sex scenes because they were funny. After that, we lost the fun edge of their unorthodox relationship. There were a lot of cliches and predictable plot points. Also, we could've done without Cary Elwes in his pointless role.
I didn't like how there was a lot of "[days, weeks, months] later". It could've done without so much time passing. Overall, an average romantic comedy with some good moments.
